Time eating internet

April 15, 2009

I am surprised to see some of my friends always green in online chat. Some days before I had a talk with one of my friends who belongs to the above category, who is very well addicted to chat.

I : Keep a fixed time for chatting. When that time is over just log out. If you see a friend when you are about to log out then don’t be afraid to tell him/her that you are busy. But next time when you are online don’t forget to send a mail or message to that friend.

He :Yeah..once I start chatting I don’t know how time flies. Anyways I will keep an eye on time.

After some days I got a mail from him “see i am not going to be online as i have really felt its a waste of time.”

After that I haven’t seen him online like before.But..I can see a lot of my juniors in his position. They are having study holidays and they spend their time in orkut updating photos and profile, adding comments, writing testimonials, and doing a lot of useless stuff.Full time online.

Having a control over ourselves is a very good thing.Free yourselves from the clutches of orkut, google chat and all.Use it for good and don’t let it waste your precious time.

Think..what have you gained till now spending hours on orkut and online chat?? Just keep in mind that internet can eat your time and it can grow fast, utilizing you. Don’t let it do it.You eat those things from internet which can make you healthy.Never have poison!!

There are a lot of things people waste their time on.

Having an aim and proper motivation to achieve your goals can get you a long way away from the distractions.

I stopped using orkut long back.People just irritate one another asking “whats up?”.Thats not real communication!!An e-mail is so decent. We take the time to write it.Its not like asking a small question and posing that u think of the other person. No thinking is involved in writing “whats up?”.I was fed up writing replies to all the casual “whats up”s!!And then i saw that people of my age-graduates are there for pure SHOW OFF.They want to show off their life in US,their new car..blah blah. And they are “thick friends” even with people they had tortured while in college!!Such a hypocritical world.Oh My!

I don’t think that always green means that the person is wasting his time chatting. I’m always online which I’m connected to the internet, but I seldom chat. There would be a few \hi, how are you\ and \bye\ which will keep the green from turning to orange. But, its true that there are a lot of people who live out their life on orkut, facebook and chats.
