Neelathaamara
December 3, 2009
Blue Lotus :

Yesterday I saw Neelathaamara. The movie gives us the feeling of reading a book. Two hours will fly without our knowledge. They have not tried to commercialize the movie by unwanted fights /jokes/songs and scenes . Actors are good and apt for the roles.Simple and beautiful ladies..Even I couldn’t take my eyes off the screen
..It doesn’t have any moral or lesson to teach you.But it is a good art and is worth watching. I would say it is a very realistic movie.I felt some similarity with Kuttimaalu when she sought the help of Neelathamara to take an important decision in her life.If you don’t know, we girls used to take the help of Tulsi leaves, fingers, coin, a small piece of paper etc etc.. to take decisions of our life.
Those who have read MT’s stories – you will find the protagonist very familiar.
Those who have memories of their “Tharavaadu ” – it is a movie which will give you a nostalgic feeling.
Those who don’t know the beauty of Kerala- You will want to see Kerala if you watch this movie.
My theatre experience :
I went with my cousin(girl of my age) to the movie for 5.30 PM show.We reached the theatre before 45 minutes to make sure that we won’t miss the ticket. But we were shocked to see a big queue, that too full of men.Everyone was staring at us as if we were aliens.Although I was giving my cousin courage, to be frank, I was trembling inside. As we haven’t seen many movies from theatres, we didn’t know there is a separate queue for ladies. With the look of a bold and very experienced person in theatre I went and stood in the Gent’s queue. After sometime a good man told us that there is a separate queue.Tuaang..I felt like I was going down to the earth.Somehow trying to mask our chalupp we moved to the ladies queue. Thanks to the good man.I couldn’t thank him then.We were the only girls in the theatre.Audience were all men of age group 18-35.I wonder if it is the same for all the movies?Anyways we got a comfortable seat in the last row and were able to watch the movie without the help of safety pins.I really enjoyed it.
.Lyrics of songs will be soon uploaded here.

“If you don’t know, we girls used to take the help of Tulsi leaves, fingers, coin, a small piece of paper etc etc.. to take decisions of our life” — and yeah, then they say women take better and mature decisions than men !!!

You know one thing, yesterday I took an inland to write a letter, and I stopped after writing two lines as I can’t use smilies. I didn’t feel like completing the letter. It’s damn boring without these smilies
